TIDU PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: August 31, 2026
1. The short version
Tidu does not require an account and does not run its own servers. Everything you create in the app – your routines, steps, schedules, and progress history – is stored only on your device. We never see it, collect it, or transmit it anywhere. The only outside data processing happens through the third-party services described below: Google AdMob (for ads) and Apple’s App Store or Google Play Billing (for the optional one-time “Remove ads” purchase).
2. Information stored on your device
Tidu stores the following locally, using an on-device database (Hive):
- The routines and steps you create (names, icons, durations, schedules, active days)
- Your daily/monthly completion history, used to show your progress calendar
- App preferences (sound, haptics, gentle mode, reminder times, language)
- Whether you have purchased the “Remove ads” upgrade
None of this leaves your device unless the device itself is backed up by your own operating system’s backup feature (e.g. Android’s built-in app backup, which is controlled by you and Google, not by us). Uninstalling the app permanently deletes this data.
3. Notifications
Tidu can show local reminder notifications for scheduled routines and a daily “gentle nudge”. These are scheduled entirely on your device and are not sent from any server – no notification content or scheduling data is transmitted to us or anyone else.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Tidu shows ads served by Google AdMob (a banner ad and an occasional full-screen ad after finishing a routine) unless you purchase “Remove ads”. To serve and measure ads, Google AdMob and its partners may collect and process information such as your advertising ID, general device information, approximate location, and app usage/interaction data. This processing is governed by Google’s own privacy policy, not ours:
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, Tidu shows a consent form (Google’s User Messaging Platform) the first time you open the app, letting you choose whether ads are personalized. You can change your ad personalization choices at any time from your device’s system settings (e.g. Android Settings > Ads > “Reset advertising ID” or “Opt out of Ads Personalization”).
5. In-app purchase (App Store / Google Play Billing)
The optional one-time “Remove ads” purchase is processed entirely by Apple’s App Store (on iOS) or Google Play Billing (on Android), depending on your device. Tidu never sees or stores your payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.) – Apple or Google handles the transaction and only tells Tidu whether the purchase succeeded, which we then store locally on your device so ads stay off. See Apple’s or Google’s privacy policy for how they handle payment information.
6. Third parties summary
- Google AdMob – Purpose: displaying ads. Data involved: advertising ID, device info, approximate location, ad interaction data.
- App Store / Google Play Billing – Purpose: processing the “Remove ads” purchase. Data involved: payment handled entirely by Apple or Google; we only receive a purchase status.
We do not use any analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs beyond the two listed above.
7. Children’s privacy
Tidu is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Ad personalization is subject to the consent flow described in Section 4.
8. Your choices and rights
Because your routines, progress, and settings live only on your device, you are always in full control of them: you can edit or delete any routine at any time within the app, and uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data permanently. For data processed independently by Apple or Google (App Store/Play Billing, AdMob), you can exercise your rights (access, deletion, opting out of personalized ads) directly through your Apple ID privacy settings or Google Account privacy settings.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add a new feature that changes what data is processed. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of Tidu after an update means you accept the revised policy.
